CIUDAD NUEVA FEDERACIÓN (ARGENTINA) Y MUNICIPIO DE SANTO AMARO DA IMPERATRIZ (BRASIL) Catullo, María Rosa Bordin, Dagoberto This paper deals with the hot springs exploited in two different national contexts: in the Argentinian city of Nueva Federación and the Santa Catarina municipality of Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, in dialogue with an extensive literature on this subject, and highlighting its many uses, focusing on health, leisure and religious activities. In addition, these waters are taken as natural and cultural heritage as a source of identification and symbolic reference, and as the center of disputes "social fields of conflict" regarding power use and ownership. It also stands beyond the similarity in the way that the hot springs are exploited and designed in the aforementioned contexts. Those specificities characterize both resorts. Finally, the importance of hydrotherapy for both the province of Entre Rios to the state of Santa Catarina is highlighted. Este trabajo trata de las aguas termales explotadas en dos contextos nacionales diferentes: en la ciudad argentina de Nueva Federación y en el municipio catarinense de Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, dialogando con una amplia literatura sobre este tema, y destacando sus múltiples usos, centrados para la salud, para actividades de ocio y religiosas. Además, estas aguas son asumidas como patrimonio natural y cultural, como fuente de identificación y referencia simbólica, y como el centro de las disputas en "campos sociales de conflicto", relativos al poder de su uso y su apropiación. También se destacan, más allá de la similitud en la forma en que las aguas termales son explotadas y pensadas en los referidos contextos, las especificidades que marcan ambos balnearios. Por último, se subraya la importancia del termalismo tanto para la Provincia de Entre Ríos como para el Estado de Santa Catarina.
