Esta política de multioficialidade não apenas reflete decisões estratégicas de integração regional e internacional, mas também revela camadas ideológicas e discursivas que procuram legitimar identidades nacionais e posicionamentos geopolíticos. O presente estudo analisa os discursos oficiais e institucionais que sustentam essa política, investigando de que modo as línguas são representadas como símbolos de modernidade, unidade ou herança histórica. Para tal, recorre-se a uma abordagem qualitativa de base crítica, centrada na análise das dimensões representacionais e ideológicas das políticas linguísticas, com o objetivo de compreender os seus impactos na construção da identidade equato-guineense e na inserção internacional do país. Equatorial Guinea represents a singular case in the African context by adopting three official languages: Spanish, French, and Portuguese. This policy of multi-officiality not only reflects strategic decisions of regional and international integration but also reveals ideological and discursive layers aimed at legitimising national identities and geopolitical positioning. This study analyses the official and institutional discourses that underpin this policy, examining how languages are represented as symbols of modernity, unity, or historical heritage. To this end, a qualitative and critical approach is employed, focusing on the representational and ideological dimensions of language policies, with the objective of understanding their impact on the construction of Equatoguinean identity and the country’s international integration.
