In the city of Lisbon, from the very beginning of the Portuguese Inquisition, a structure was created to assist in the indoctrination of those condemned to spiritual penance. Thisinstitution, known as the College of the Doctrine of the Faith, ensured the isolation of the penitents and the proper fulfilment of the penances imposed on them. In order to understand the dynamics that regulated the functioning of this place, we have published the regulations that accompanied the appointment of its first jailer. Na cidade de Lisboa, desde o início do estabelecimento da Inquisição portuguesa, criouse uma estrutura para apoiar a doutrinação dos réus condenados a cumprir penitências espirituais. Esta instituição, conhecida como Colégio da Doutrina da Fé, assegurava o isolamento dos penitentes e o adequado cumprimento das penitências que lhes tinham sido impostas. Com o intuito de auxiliar na compreensão das dinâmicas que presidiram ao funcionamento deste espaço, publicamos o regimento que acompanhou a nomeação do seu primeiro carcereiro. En la ciudad de Lisboa, desde el inicio del establecimiento de la Inquisición portuguesa, se desarrolló una estructura para apoyar el adoctrinamiento de los acusados condenados a cumplir penitencia espiritual. Esta institución, conocida como Colegio de la Doctrina de la Fe, aseguraba el aislamiento de los penitentes y el adecuado cumplimiento de las penitencias que les habían sido impuestas. Para ayudar a comprender la dinámica que gobernó el funcionamiento de este espacio, publicamos el reglamento que acompañó el nombramiento del su primer carcelero. Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades.
