It is not my intention to make a critical examination of the works that I am going to cite; I only wish to point out to scholars and specialists in the field, the treasure of documents found in some of the Archives of Rome, relating to the historical evolution of the South American continent. The research has been extended especially to the Vatican Secret Archives and the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale Vittorio Emanuele. En el curso de algunas investigaciones en los archivos de  Roma, hechas con el propósito de buscar documentos relacionados con la historia de la Universidad de Córdoba, he tenido la oportunidad de poder consultar algunos manuscritos, que si bien no tenían relación con el objeto de mi estudio, han llamado mi atención por interesar directamente a la historia del país o a la de las demás naciones sudamericanas. No cabe en mis intenciones hacer un examen crítico de las obras que voy a citar; yo deseo tan solo señalar a los estudiosos y especialistas en la materia, el tesoro de documentos que se encuentra en algunos Archivos de Roma, relativos a la evolución histórica del continente sud-americano. Las investigaciones se han extendido especialmente al Ar-chivo secreto Vaticano y a la Biblioteca Nacional Central Vittorio Emanuele.
