Sumario:In the course of some research in the archives of Rome, made with the purpose of searching for documents related to the history of the University of Cordoba, I have had the opportunity to consult some manuscripts, which although they were not related to the object of my study, have attracted my attention because they are of direct interest to the history of the country or to that of other South American nations. It is not my intention to make a critical examination of the works that I am going to cite; I only wish to point out to scholars and specialists in the field, the treasure of documents found in some of the Archives of Rome, relating to the historical evolution of the South American continent. The research has been extended especially to the Vatican Secret Archives and the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale Vittorio Emanuele.
