Written and defended before the Bachelor's Thesis, it was published in Cuadernos de Historia de España LI-LII in 1970. The topics dealt with are related to the characteristics of the Castilian economic growth that took place between the 11th and 14th centuries. From a microstructural study -as the author calls it- of the Monastery of San Salvador de Oña. Supported by a large body of documents, it describes the rural landscape, the exploitation techniques, the characteristics of the great domain and its relationship with the inhabitants of the village. This is a research work that is framed in the social history that was profoundly innovative in those years, both for Spanish and Argentine historiography, and that can be understood as a type of approach that its author, even when she devoted herself to other problems, regions and periods, never abandoned. Este trabajo fue presentado como Tesis de Doctorado de Universidad en la Facultad de Aix en Provence (Francia) bajo la dirección del profesor Georges Duby. El plan inicial y la preparación pertinente fueron el resultado de un seminario que Marta Bonaudo realizó con la Prof. Reyna Pastor de Togneri. Escrito y defendido antes que la Tesis de Licenciatura, fue publicado en los Cuadernos de Historia de España LI-LII en 1970. Los temas que se abordan se relacionan con las características del crecimiento económico castellano que tuvo lugar entre los siglos XI- XIV. A partir de un estudio de carácter microestructual – como lo llama la autora- del Monasterio de San Salvador de Oña. Sustentado en un nutrido corpus documental, se describe el paisaje rural, las técnicas de explotación, las características del gran dominio y su relación con los habitantes de la villa. Estamos frente a un trabajo de investigación que se enmarca en la historia social que resultó profundamente innovadora en aquellos años, tanto para la historiografía española como para la argentina, y que se puede entender como un tipo de abordaje que su autora, aun cuando se dedicó a otros problemas, regiones y períodos, nunca abandonó.
