Within this framework, “Comisiones Pro Defensa” of sugar cane mills were formed in 14 locations of the province. These entities, scarcely analyzed by historiography, embodied a singular form of confrontation and social articulation. The article analyzes the trajectory of the CPD of Bella Vista, a local perspective that seeks to reconstruct the dynamics of protest that preceded the massive mobilizations of students and workers in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán in 1969-1970. A mediados de la década de 1960, la confluencia entre la crisis de sobreproducción azucarera con una política nacional de descapitalización, intervención y cierre de ingenios provocaron una debacle de la agroindustria tucumana. En ese marco se formaron Comisiones Pro Defensa de ingenios en 14 localidades de la provincia. Dichas entidades, escasamente analizadas por la historiografía, vehiculizaron una singular forma de confrontación y articulación social. El artículo analiza la trayectoria de la CPD de Bella Vista, perspectiva local que procura reconstruir las dinámicas de protesta que antecedieron las masivas movilizaciones de estudiantes y trabajadores en la ciudad de San Miguel de Tucumán en 1969-1970.
