| Sumario: | This article deals with the management of Peruvian public finances during the first years of independence as a way of approaching the construction of post-colonial states from their daily practices. It studies the actions of the prefectures and departmental treasuries in Junín and Ayacucho, seeking to give a more local dimension to the analysis. In spite of the image of complete state chaos, it can be seen that multiple tasks and various procedures were carried out to ensure a continuous flow of income - which was always complicated - as well as to make fundamental expenditures to support the bureaucratic and military apparatus. |
