Sumario:Publishing studies in Brazil seek its consolidation in several ways. The topics of investigation and discussion have diversified over the years, as have the objects of interest of researchers from various parts of the country. The gender perspective has proven productive and this article presents part of our investment in investigating the role of women in the Brazilian editorial field. Based on a notion of women's editorial modus operandi throughout history, in this work we address important methodological issues, especially the difficulties of finding sources of research about women publishers. Based on bibliography, editorial collections and interviews, we focus our attention on the cases of a Brazilian writer, two publishers and a literary agent from the 20th and 21st centuries. With this, it was possible to observe their trajectories and think about social and editorial issues related to women in the Brazilian editorial field.
