Sumario:In this papper, we review various aspects related to the role played by the indig-enous people (structure, actions, violence) in the riot that occurred in Mexico City in 1692, according to the work Alboroto y motín, written by the novohispanic Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora; Likewise, we focus on the true or simulated posture that Sigüenza y Góngora observed when narrating their participation in the revolt.
