Sumario:The expelled Jesuit Francisco Burgés was the author of two reports in which he gave testimony of his experience in the reduction of San Javier de mocovíes. One of them, located in Alcalá de Henares, was published in 2016, while the other, belonging to the Historical Archive of the Sanctuary of Loyola, remained unpublished until this opportunity. Given the particularity of having two similar, but not identical, reports by the same author, we decided, in addition to their complete transcription, to put in dialogue both writings by means of a comparative work. In broad terms, the relation that we present offers, on the one hand, some sections of ethnographic information that the other one lacks and, on the other hand, a marked apologetic intention of the Jesuit action not so explicit in the already published relation.
