Sumario:The retreat houses were the areas where the ministry devised San Ignacio de Loyola, becoming one of the pillars of the Society of Jesus practiced. From the begin-ning it required special areas, though the same schools supplemented which eventually led to a particular type in the context of colonial architecture and specifically addresses the Jesuits. Unfortunately, the proposed broad geographical area, most of them disap-peared. The origin and development of these buildings in the former Province of Para-guay discussed here.
