Sumario:The fact that International Humanitarian Law does not contain a specific mention to enforced disappearances does not mean that there is no protection of such practice in those set of norms. Therefore the objective of this article is to analyse and show that the prohibition of enforced disappearances is contained within such body of law, by addressing two different sets of obligations, positive obligations and negative ones that touch upon the core elements of enforced disappearances.
