Sumario:Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) it is the most common malignant tumor of the salivary gland. Regarding the minor salivary glands, it is more common in palate. An unusual case of MEC is presented located on the hard and soft palate, palatine tonsil, and right nasopharynx where histologic grade and proliferative potential as prognostic factors were analyzed. 73 years-old female patients consulted by exophytic tumor of the palate with 3 months of evolution. Incisional biopsy reported MEC of high-grade malignancy, so the surgical removal of the lesions was performed on palate, palatine tonsil and nasopharynx confirming that diagnosis. The high degree MEC is associated with aggressive behavior and reduced survival rate compared with tumors of low and intermediate malignancy. The results show its aggressiveness, high cell proliferation and infiltrative capacity, which require the early treatment and monitoring of the patient.
