| Sumario: | Oral neoplasias represent 5% of the malignant tumors of the body. These data can vary according to the geographic area considered. The aim of the present paper was to analyze the casuistic of oral malignant neoplasias treated by the Chair of Clinical Stomathology "B", School ofDentistry, national University ofCórdoba between 1990 and 1998. From a total of 67 malignant neoplasias, 94% was of epithelial origin. Among these, the most frequent was the squamous cell carcinoma, wich included 46 cases (69%). it was found that in this type of carcinoma 74% of the patients were male, and that tongue (33%) and lips (20%) were the most frequent locations of the lesions. On the other hand, ulcerated from was the main clinical manifestation (67%). Lichen planus (24%) and traumatic ulcer (22%) were the precancerous lesions most usually observed in these patients. |
