Sumario:This study examines an experience of intraand inter-sectoral coordination that took place between 1989 and 1991, on a local scale  centered around the higher education institution in Río Cuarto and in connection with various trade entities. We are interested in  investigating when, how, and why there was a strategic shift that led from contentious, fragmented sectoral actions as had been  developing until then, to convergences in the social struggle among the most important Argentine education unions, including local  delegations. Three dimensions are analyzed. One is social, involving the actors of the convergence. Another dimension is temporal,  corresponding to the times when the meetings took place. The third aspect encompasses the dimension of the experience and  corresponds to the repertoires of coordination. For this purpose, a significant database was used that meticulously recorded  information about the different instances in which this experience of coordination was registered, based on journalistic sources, a  contemporary university magazine, and testimonies collected through semi-structured interviews. The conclusions of the article  primarily emphasize the conceptual and empirical contributions of this research.
