| Sumario: | This article analyzes how different and sometimes conflicting representations of the Chaco past were defined within an intellectual space in formation during the first half of the 20th century. By attending to the role of historiography, in its broad sense, for the construction of regional / provincial identities, can be established the particular practices of cultural integration to the nation that were carried out from this space. The three interpretive lines identified, with their respective representatives, productions and places of memory, entered into debates that would frame the emergence of a professional historiography in the second half of the century. |
