In general, this brings architectural, morphological and use land changes, among others. That had an impact on the reproduction of memory, producing identity resignifications. This article analyses the meaning acquired by places of identity resignification in three sites in the Güemes neighbourhood as a result of urban renewal processes (La Cañada, the former prison of Encausados and Villael Pocito). Urban spaces accumulate forms-contents, material and symbolic instances, which reveal emotional relationships, feelings of belonging, experiences and inhabiting practices. The premise is the renewal processes have modified the reconstruction and theforms taken by the identities and territorial dynamics of places of memory. The aim is to contribute to the debate on the impact of the execution of projects of a certain magnitude in consolidated areas. The methodological perspective is qualitative, firstly the elements that configure the space, then an approach to the experience and experimentation of each place and the link with the construction of identity(ies); summarise the meaning the places acquire. En las urbes del sur se asisten cada vez más a fenómenos de transformación urbana, específicamente en áreas centrales y tradicionales. Por lo general, traen aparejados cambios arquitectónicos, morfológicos, de suelo entre otros que impactan en la re-producción de la memoria produciendo resignificaciones identitarias. Este artículo analiza el sentido que adquieren los lugares de resignificación identitaria, en tres sitios localizados en el barrio Güemes (La Cañada, la ex cárcel de Encausados y Villa el Pocito); a partir de procesos de renovación urbana. En los espacios urbanos se acumulan formascontenidos, instancias materiales y simbólicas, que revelan relaciones emocionales, sentimientos de pertenencia, experiencias y prácticas del habitar. Se parte de la premisa de que estos procesos de renovación han modificado la re-construcción y las formas que adoptan las identidades y la dinámica territorial de los lugares del recuerdo. El objetivo es aportar al debate del impacto en la ejecución de proyectos de cierta magnitud en áreas consolidadas. La perspectiva metodológica es cualitativa, en un primer momento se mencionan los elementos configurantes del espacio, luego un acercamiento a la vivencia y experimentación de cada lugar y el vínculo con la construcción de identidad(es); y por último el significado que adquieren los mencionados lugares.
