| Sumario: | The aim of this article is to present five different aspects according to which the new simulation technologies alter writing practices in general and intellectual practices in particular. We will first work on the concept of preservation in relation to the collective construction of social memory. Then, we will refer to the particular case of the encyclopedia. Third, we will ask about the ways public intervention takes under a redefinition of the figure of the intellectual and the new forms of horizontality in front of the old hierarchies of knowledge. Finally, we will explain the consequences of exposure to new regimes of light to reading and writing practices. As a conclusion, we will sketch some clues to think about what we can call the new scribes of the networks and the practices of subjectification related to them.
