Sumario:Since the first detailed description of antiphospholipid syndrome (PAS) by Dr. Graham Hughes, this condition is today one of the most frequent autoimmune diseases. The impact of this description has been enormous, as the recognition of individuals with connective tissue diseases requiring anticoagulation instead of steroid treatment or with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs has led to a fundamental change in medical practice.
