The Arnoldshain Seminars are named after the small town in the Taunus Mountains north of Frankfurt am Main where the first meeting in October 1995 took place. The organizer at that time, under the inspirationof  Prof. Ulrich Ritter was the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität, withthe rest of the participants coming from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina, and Universidade do Sao Paulo, Brasil.
