Sumario:Background and aims: Lewinskya is a genus belonging to the Orthotrichaceae, characterized by comprising autoicous species with superficial stomata. Lewinskya araucarieti was identified from specimens collected in Entre Ríos province, constituting the first report for Argentina. M&M: The specimens were morphologically analyzed through measurements of their structures (gametophyte and sporophyte). Vouchers were deposited in DTE, LIL, and MFA. Additionally, samples from other Lewinskya species previously recorded in Argentina, housed in the BA herbarium, were also analyzed. Results: The species is described in detail, including photographs, illustrations, and a distribution map. Furthermore, a comparative table is provided with the differential characteristics of the species of the genus present in Argentina. Conclusions: This paper corroborates the presence of Lewinskya araucarieti in Argentina, adding to previous records of this South American endemism (Brazil, Uruguay and Chile).
