| Sumario: | Senecio angulatus (Asteraceae, Senecioneae) naturalized in Argentina. In this contribution the climbing species Senecio angulatus L. f. is reported as cultivated and naturalized for the first time in Argentina. Its illustration, synonymy, description, distribution and phenology, vernacular names, uses, reference materials, and a discussion about its biological type and naturalization, are included. Also, a key to differentiate S. angulatus from similar climbers: Delairea odorata Lem. (= Senecio mikanioides Otto ex Walp.), Senecio macroglossus DC., and S. tamoides DC., is presented. This first record of S. angulatus in Argentina is of interest since it helps to understand its naturalization process, taking into account that it has been indicated as a weed or invasive plant in other countries. |
