Sumario:Origins and characteristics of PSICOCINE, at Camagüey, a Cuban province, created with de aim of promoting mental health in the community using commercial films, are discussed in this paper. Initiated as a teaching activity by the author in 2012, using 7th Art in order to facilitate the learning of Psychiatry to medical students in 5th year, later was widened to residents and specialists, psychologists and other members of mental health teams, and culminate with the creation in 2018 of a monthly appointment with good cinema and the interested audience, to enjoy a movie previously selected and promoted, and discuss later mental health issues, promotion and prevention of mental disorders, according to the film presented.
