To achieve his goal, he defies himself to find a “lost melody” written by the mythical Robert Johnson.The film presents a variant of the legend of the agreement with the devil and it turns out useful to think the nature of the creating act. This article based on Arnold Schoenberg’s contributions, establishes the differences between a craftsman and an artist, contributing a hypothesis on the musical event.
