Sumario:This paper presents information on artifacts made on guanaco scapulae recovered in the center-west of the province of Santa Cruz (Argentine Patagonia), in open-air sites of low lake basins, with late chronologies. The recognition of informal bone artifacts is increasingly common (Aschero et al. 1992-93; Hajduk and Lezcano 2005; Miotti 1998; Santiago et al. 2019, 2020), so it is interesting to draw attention to expeditious actions for the manufacture of bone technology. Thus, it is proposed to discuss, based on this specific case, the capacity and potential of animal bones to be introduced, as raw material, quickly and effectively in the range of processing tasks immediately after the hunting of each prey, in our case, mainly guanaco (Lama guanicoe).
