description The alluvial of La Troya (Tinogasta department, Catamarca) has been inhabited over time since the first agro-pottery occupations recorded in the 4th century AD until Inca times and their contact with the Spanish in the 16th century AD. This is known thanks to the different investigations carried out in the area, which show an intensive use of space during a long period and with different activities (residential, productive and funerary). This paper analyzes the morphological and dimensional variation of ceramics from the La Troya barreal over time and its relationship with the residential archaeological sites located in it, with the purpose of approaching the discussion about the use and consumption practices implemented by those who inhabited the alluvial throughout its occupational history. The samples analyzed were recovered during an archaeological impact study for the repaving of the RN60 road that crosses the 9 km extension of the alluvial. The results show the existence of variability in the morpho-dimensional characteristics of the ceramic material ascribed to the village societies of the first millennium (Formative) with respect to the state sociopolitical organizations of Inca times in contact with the local populations (Late Inca).

The results show the existence of variability in the morpho-dimensional characteristics of the ceramic material ascribed to the village societies of the first millennium (Formative) with respect to the state sociopolitical organizations of Inca times in contact with the local populations (Late Inca).
