| Sumario: | This paper aims at the identification of natural (geoenvironmental) and anthropic alteration factors affecting the Inca road network and its associated sites on the eastern slope of the Sierra de Famatina (Province of La Rioja) and to diagnose its archaeological visibility, the present conditions of this road heritage (patrimony) and the most relevant aspects to consider for its preventive conservation.
The methodology included intensive pedestrian prospections and records of environmental, geological, and cultural variables. The results identified the intervening factors in the transformation of the roads and validated the strategies for the vial planning of the Qhapaq Ñan to minimize the destructive effects and guarantee the passability and conservation of the roads. |
