Sumario:This paper aims to evaluate the pottery record of Arroyo Cululú 1 and Las Acacias archaeological sites from a morphological and functional perspective. These sites are located in central Santa Fe plain, in the Northeastern Espinal ecoregion. Despite the fact that fragmented assemblages, with low representation of complete or semi-complete pieces, make the morphological reconstruction difficult, it is possible to get it through refitting strategies and the observation of specific attributes. The morphological reconstruction allows to get closer to vessels functions and to obtain new evidence about past populations subsistence and ways of life. In this paper, in addition to refitting tasks, an analysis of edge and base fragments recovered at both sites was carried out. Other specific elements (e.g. handles, appendices) were also analyzed. The results suggest the existence of a set of varied shapes, with open and closed vessels of different diameters, sizes and thicknesses, which would have been used to carry out different tasks. From the data collected and other types of archaeological evidence of the sites, functions related to both domestic and funeral spheres can be inferred. This also allows to think about relationships between the groups that inhabited the area and those who occupied neighboring sectors.
