Sumario:Archaeological investigations, corresponding to Bajo de Los Saladillos, including the Capón-Leyes-Setúbal lagoon system (middle Paraná river basin) in the province of Santa Fe, has been a focus of archaeological interest since the second half of the 20th century. These investigations have demonstrated the existence of human occupations from the early late Holocene (2000 years BP) to the final late Holocene (500 BP). This work presents the results obtained from three radiocarbon dates made on human skeletal remains from the archaeological sites Isla Barranquita II (IB II), Isla Cementerio (IC), El Capón I (EC I), which are located in the southern sector of Bajo de Los Saladillos and the Capón-Leyes-Setúbal lagoon system. These results provide the first radiocarbon dates for the southern sector of this study area and establish a new chronological floor of human occupations, contributing with greater elements for the discussion on the population dynamics of hunter-gatherer and fishing societies during the late Holocene.
