These works present several points of contact with the theoretical approaches supported by those who have investigated the nature of the societies that precede the state in other countries - notably the United States - during the last three decades, since the publication of the seminal works by Service ( 1962, 1984 [1975]) and Fried (1967) on cultural evolution. |
