| Sumario: | The management of woodland resources by hunters and gatherers societies of Patagonia was determined by the mobility, duration and functionality of the various occupations. The archaeobotanical study of wood remains allows to understand the role of these resources within a society and their socio-economic dynamic as a group. To understand the gathering and use of woodland resources by hunters and gatherers it is necessary to apply different analyses techniques. The aim of this work is to show, in the dossier Estudios arqueobotánicos en Argentina. Situación actual y nuevas perspectivas, the different methodologies applied in 18 archaeobotanical studies. So far, the results show both differences and similitude in management of woodland resources by past populations of Patagonia. The integration of different methodologies and techniques on wood material, used for fuel or as raw material, represents a step forward for archaeobotany of Patagonia. |
