| Sumario: | This paper presents the archaeological site with rock art Palancho (Depto. Chilecito, La Rioja). Given the extension of the site and the number of representations, the main purpose of this presentation is to do a fi rst preliminary description of the site and to propose a chronological sequence for rock art representations. To accomplish this goal four variables were analyzed (techniques, types of motifs, superimpositions and different desert varnish shades) in order to make fi ve groups of representations from different chronological periods.Also, because of the absence of other archeological remains, stylistic regional indicators were used. |
