Sumario:The following article explores and questions the concepts of the school library and its limited dissemination regarding cultural extension and the various types of activities that can be carried out inside and out side this space. With in this frame work, the article poses a doublé question: the role of school libraries as countercultural sites in the information age, and the invisibility of these learning and non-formal education spaces in the curricula of different library science programs, teacher training programs, and universities in Argentina.
