The research, of a qualitative nature, sought a theoretical and historical review of the object, as well as a new enunciation of its rationality through a reconstructive hermeneutics, using content analysis resources to evaluate the frequency of citations to less valued cultures. socially and approaches that value multiculturalism in the chosen corpus. As a result, it was found that eleven of the twelve works analyzed made reference to the sky seen from the perception of non-dominant cultures. However, in most of these works, the approach still presents a simplistic vision that does not reflect multiculturalism in teaching proposals. It is, therefore, essential that these materials, which are mandatory for use and reach tens of millions of Brazilian students, value the contributions and perspectives of different cultures, incorporating them into the teaching-learning processes. Este trabalho busca caracterizar os temas de etnoastronomia em livros didáticos de ciências distribuídos, em 2020, pelo Programa Nacional do Livro e do Material Didático (PNLD), tomando por recorte o nono ano do Ensino Fundamental, série em que a Astronomia obtém maior espaço curricular. A pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, buscou uma revisão teórica e histórica do objeto, bem como uma nova enunciação de sua racionalidade por meio de uma hermenêutica reconstrutiva, utilizando-se de recursos da análise de conteúdo para avaliar a frequência de citações a culturas menos valorizadas socialmente e as abordagens que valorizam o multiculturalismo no corpus elegido. Como resultado, constatou-se que onze das doze obras analisadas faziam referência ao céu visto a partir da percepção de culturas não dominantes. No entanto, na maior parte dessas obras, a abordagem ainda apresenta uma visão simplista e que não reflete o multiculturalismo nas propostas didáticas. É, portanto, fundamental que esses materiais, que são de uso obrigatório e ganham escalas de dezenas de milhões de estudantes brasileiros, valorizem as contribuições e perspectivas de diferentes culturas, incorporando-as aos processos de ensino-aprendizagem.
