Sumario:This report aims to reflect on the first teaching assignment of a resident of the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP). The process reported was about the creation of an investigative physics activity that was taken to a second-year high school class at a state school in São Paulo. After applying the activity, various points about the teaching practice were raised, taking into account the perceptions of the resident about the challenges experienced. The reflections were made in the light of the first chapter of the book "Por uma Pedagogia da Presença" by Antônio Costa, where a dialog was established between experience and making oneself present during teaching practice, aiming to build the teacher profile of the resident.
