| Sumario: | In this essay, we verified how the physics books approved by the National Textbook Program (PNLD) 2018 address the visual aspect of bodies on a relativistic contraction. For this, we carried out an extensive literature review, selecting works on the visual appearance of bodies that suffer a relativistic contraction and comparing them with those presented in the PNLD-2018 text-books. Unfortunately, we find that 9 of the 12 works still use inadequate figures to illustrate the relativistic contraction. There-fore, it is urgent that authors and teachers become aware of this conceptual error and it is eradicated. |
