Measuring the mutual coupling coefficient of slightly coupled coils in an introductory Physics laboratory
We propose a method of measuring the mutual induction coefficient M, between two coils, with sine wave signal generator and oscilloscope. The coils will be separated from each other at different distances, being coupled axially and off–axis with different angles. The shape of the magnetic field can...

| Sumario: | We propose a method of measuring the mutual induction coefficient M, between two coils, with sine wave signal generator and oscilloscope. The coils will be separated from each other at different distances, being coupled axially and off–axis with different angles. The shape of the magnetic field can be observed in flat and solenoid type coils. The results are obtained by varying the frequency of the sine coupling signal. The effects of distributed capacity are considered. Results are compared with theoretical calculations. |
