Sumario:With the objective of identifying some factors related to the lack of interest and poor performance of students in curricular spaces of Natural Sciences, in this paper we analyze the influence of teaching models and classroom atmosphere in social representations and opinions of students about Natural Sciences learning in basic secondary education. For this, we implemented a questioning technique based on graphic and verbal supports and a semi–structured questionnaire of incomplete sentences to a sample of four groups of students. The results allow us to relate lack of interest with traditional teaching models that would support school practices and to evaluate the negative influence of factors related to classroom atmosphere that students point out as obstacles for their learning.
