Based on written sources and two interviews with activists who were protagonists of the conflict, we analyze this dispute between capital and labor through the prism of concepts related to working class culture, and about relations between production and social reproduction areas. In first place, we focus on the role of left parties who had insertion in this company in terms of their importance in the assembly and development of the union representation in the factory of Monte Chingolo and the characteristics of the struggle in 1983. Secondly, we analyze the impact of the conflict in the field of social reproduction. On the one hand, regarding the relationship of the workers with the residents of Monte Chingolo. On the other, in relation to the two activists interviewed, we point out the tensions that were generated with their families due to the duration of the confrontation with the enterprise. El texto refiere a aspectos del conflicto desarrollado entre febrero y mayo de 1983 en la planta de la empresa automotriz Volkswagen situada en Monte Chingolo. En base a fuentes escritas y dos entrevistas realizadas a activistas protagonistas de dicho conflicto, analizamos esta disputa entre capital y trabajo bajo el prisma de conceptos relacionados con la cultura obrera, y con respecto al nexo entre los espacios de producción y de reproducción social. En primer lugar, nos centramos en el rol de las corrientes de izquierda presentes en esta terminal en cuanto a su importancia en el armado y desarrollo de la organización de base en el establecimiento de Monte Chingolo y de las características de la lucha acontecida en 1983. En segundo término, abordamos el impacto del conflicto en el ámbito de reproducción social. Por un lado, con respecto a la vinculación de los operarios con los vecinos de Monte Chingolo. Por otro, en relación con los dos activistas entrevistados, señalamos las tensiones que se generaron con sus familias debido a la duración del enfrentamiento con la patronal.
