Sumario:In the article, research carried out in Uruguay and Argentina on the social modes that organize care strategies linked to people diagnosed with Alzheimer's and other dementias are brought into dialogue. These social modes are registered in two countries with an aging, unequal population and with familiar systems pressing care. The dialogue between investigations, from the south, allowed us to account for the metaphors that organize the discourse plot of socio-family care, while putting in the public framework the collective proposals for group accompaniment of family members. Finally, tre relationship between Alzheimer’s, social bond, family ties, affection and care is analyzed.
