Sumario:In this article we present reflections on the Conditional Transfer Programs and their implications in the production of expectations of the target families. From the experience of the Universal Assignment for Child for Social Protection that has been implemented in Argentina since 2009, we specifically investigate how the families project and project themselves in virtue of the felt needs and the perceived possibilities of satisfaction. In this sense, from the field work carried out in a municipality of the second cordon of the Buenos Aires suburbs with 35 families in persistent poverty situation and with high dependence on the State, we analyze the meanings assigned to the prestation as well as the social representations regarding the future they have, with focus in what means for them to be better and what are the channels that are proposed to achieve it, taking into account their desires, aspirations and bets but without losing sight of their particular conditions of existence and their social trajectory, to know how "the desirable" and "the possible" intersect in their expectations.
