From the perspectives of different disciplines, the phenomenon of the "dog" becomes complex, integrating contributions from biology, anthropology and other fields. The explanations that are included in its chapters constitute a valuable opportunity to rethink some of the contents of biology teaching. El libro “Perros y otros cánidos de las Américas. Origen, evolución e historia natural” nos ofrece la oportunidad de conocer algunas ideas respecto de las relaciones de los perros (y otros cánidos) con los humanos. Desde la mirada de distintas disciplinas, el fenómeno del “perro” se complejiza al punto de integrar aportes de la biología, la antropología y otras disciplinas. Las explicaciones que se incluyen en sus capítulos pueden ser una buena oportunidad para repensar algunos contenidos de la enseñanza de la biología.
