Sumario:The present work aimed to describe the analogies of Biology texts used in the first two years of High School. The seven textbooks selected were indicated as the most frequently used by teachers. In them, 265 analogies were identified and it was observed that these appear in the texts to illustrate or introduce meta concepts that are largely abstract, but they do so implicitly, simply (i.e. without development ), and imply the use of concrete base analogues belonging to Biology itself. From these results, it is possible to infer some benefits and difficulties that these tools can generate, which is relevant both for the authors of the textbooks and for the teachers who use them.
