| Sumario: | This paper presents a set of indicators to describe the images of a Brazilian secondary education Biology textbook. The analysis starts with the concepts of language and representation in the cultural studies perspective; so, they are meaning producers. It faces the question that reality, including the one represented by biological sciences, is a game of forces. The analysis focuses on language gaps and the relationships between difference and power, enquiring how the identities of students-readers of images should move and create temporary fixity. The game of forces of signification is thought by difference, the analytics of which always expresses something multiple. In this context, it highlights the necessary deconstruction of premise of truth represented by scientific knowledge and theimages that represent it. |
