| Sumario: | A school project was developed with high school students (12-16 years old), linking School, University and Botanical Garden in order to promote interest in native flora. The students researched bibliography, tree species characterization sheets, seeds classification, germination essays and they identified typical species from the Espinal. Pre- and poststudy questionnaires were used to assess concepts and perceptions. The students’ previous conceptual knowledge was enriched during the study, but their procedural knowledge was not improved. Better short-term results regarding the integration and/or application of contents to problematic situations were observed. Extended educational programs are suggested, as well as short surveys and practical activities to assess changes. |
