Sumario:This paper presents a practical activity for integration of contents related to animal biology. It is an approach to the study of adaptations in the way of life of bivalve mollusks, focused on the analysis of the morphology of their shells. Based on the recognition of the morphology of the shell and its muscular marks, we intend to determine accurately the way of life and the adaptations to the habitat of representative specimens of this group. The scheme hereby proposed and exemplified is suitable to explore the richness offered by the study of the biology of invertebrates, as it contributes to the construction of knowledge from the confrontation with a situation-problem.
