| Sumario: | This article research the links between some artists and folkloric studies in Argentina that undergo through significant expansion from the mid-thirties. The reconstruction and classification of the traditional dances required the examination of numerous visual sources (particularly the work of the traveling and costumbristas painters of the XIX century) allowing a considerable field of work for several artists, among them, Aurora de Pietro. These images transcended the visual and printed culture and gained their own place in the halls of the Salón Nacional de Bellas Artes. |
