The strategy is considering this problem through two cases. One is the analysis of a critical note written by Miguel Gómez Echea against bourgeois art. The other is to consider five art pieces made by Lasansky and his pedagogical experience as a director in the Escuela Libre de Bellas Artes in Villa María. Both cases allow us to observe some tensions relative to the emergence of a social art in the local space. One as well as the other can be analysed in order to identify the particular inflections of the crucial issues that mark national and international debates on the matter in question. Esta ponencia realiza una aproximación a las inflexiones locales del arte social en Córdoba a mediados de la década del treinta. La estrategia es efectuar esa aproximación a partir de dos casos. Uno es el análisis de una nota crítica en la cual Miguel Gómez Echea cuestiona un arte de entretenimiento que fomenta el individualismo y capitalismo de la sociedad burguesa. El otro está conformado por una serie de cinco grabados elaborados por Mauricio Lasansky que tienen como protagonistas a changos y burritos. Esos grabados a su vez, se analizan en relación con la experiencia pedagógica que impulsa como director en la Escuela Libre de Bellas Artes de Villa María. Ambos casos permiten observar algunas de las tensiones que marcan los debates sobre el arte social en Córdoba. De tal suerte, el propósito del trabajo es identificar las inflexiones particulares de dos temas cruciales presentes en los debates nacionales e internacionales sobre el asunto: la responsabilidad de artistas e intelectuales en la construcción de un frente de lucha antifascista y el lugar del arte en la cultura.
