Sumario:The objective of the research was to evaluate the effect of organic fertilization on onion plants (Allium fistulosum L.). The study was carried out in the experimental farm “Angamarca la Vieja of the comunidad Pilancón, belonging to the parish Ramón Campaña, Canton Pangua, province of Cotopaxi, the fertilizers used were (humus and compost), the doses evaluated were 2 kg m-2 and 4 kg m-2, plus a control (without fertilizer). The research had a duration of 90 days for the establishment of the trial and experimental work. The data were evaluated at three ages: 30, 60 and 90 days after transplanting. A completely randomized block design (DBCA) was used with five treatments and four replications, with a total of 20 experimental units. The variables evaluated were: plant height, number of leaves, pseudostem diameter at harvest, plant fresh weight, yield kg/plot and yield kg ha-1. To conclude, the results showed significant differences between treatments, the use of organic fertilizers had a positive effect on the growth and yield of onion plants for earthworm humus at the dose of 4 kg m-2, suggesting it as an alternative within sustainable agriculture.
